Joey Room
Nursery (0 – 15months)

2 staff/8 children
Staffs works with parents to follow the ‘home’ routine of each child, thus meting individual needs, also considering and respecting race, religion and culture. The program consists of both spontaneous and group activities, with goals also set, incorporated and evaluated.
The nursery includes a comfortable nappy change area along with a feeding preparation kitchenette. Modern approved cots, plus a hanging sling, accommodate children in a restful sleeping area. The room has a lovely aspect overlooking a beautiful park.

Possum Room
Toddlers (15 mths – 2.6 years)

2 staff/10 children
The program implemented in this room reflects the teacher’s philosophy that each child is an individual, with these individual needs incorporated into the group setting. The teachers work to build fun and loving relationships with every child, so they feel comfortable. This is a positive, safe and stimulating environment which nurtures children’s self esteem and independence, vital to the development of healthy growth and a positive feeling of self-worth.
The toddler room includes a nappy change area along with toilet training facility and a kitchenette.

Koala Room
(2.6 – 3.6 yrs)

2 staff/16 children
The Koala room utilises the emergent curriculum model, meaning our program is based on the ‘emerging needs and passions’ of the children, their parents and the teachers. Due to the nature of this style of programming the koala room is both a flexible and supportive learning environment, with an emphasis on open communication and input from parents and families.

Wombat Room
(3 – 4 yrs)

2 staff/17 children
Through the wombat program children receive individual developmental stimulation based on needs. The room offers a friendly, happy and secure environment. The program is largely unstructured to foster children’s independence through self choice. Staff see that parents have the greatest influence in the education of their children and encourage them to participate in routines and activities through sharing skills, information and talents.

Emu Room
Kindergarten (3.6 – 5 yrs)

2 staff/24 children
The kindergarten program encourages children to develop positive learning skills and dispositions through play-based investigations, exploration, interactions and active imaginations.

The program is developed in line with The QLD Kindergarten Guidelines and The Early Years Learning Framework.

Using professional knowledge and observation, through play and teacher direction communication skills, social skills, independence, fine and gross motor skills, decision making, co-operation and respect for others are all developed.
The extensive program especially prepares children for the big step into prep.

Playgrounds:

Three playgrounds keep babies, toddler and the 3-5 year olds all playing safely separately.
• The 3 – 5 year playground is one of the largest in Brisbane. It offers wide open spaces, an inbuilt sand pit, swings, extensive climbing equipment and a wide variety of quality education resources.
• Directly off from their room, the toddlers have their own play ground. This allows them flexibility in routine as well as the ability to set up age appropriate equipment and materials. This lovely space overlooks a beautiful park at the rear of the building.
• The babies too have an outdoor space of their own, flowing through off their indoor play area and overlooking the lovely natural park. Having a space of their own offers the babies flexibility in their routine and a safe, age appropriate environment.
Kitchen
Our kitchen is warm, inviting and the hub off activity each morning. State of the art equipment has been installed in the open plan setting.
Children receive a warm welcome from our experienced cook (food safety supervisor) on their way to begin a busy day.
Nutritious, age variable meals are prepared daily and served for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
