Full Description


AFL Queensland is the state controlling body for the code of Australian Football in Queensland. AFL Queensland is responsible for the administration, development and marketing of all aspects of Australian Football throughout the state.

AFL Queensland has over 103,000 participants playing at all levels of football from the introductory NAB AFL Auskick program to the AFL Masters Competition.

AFL Queensland covers 14 Regions, 25 Leagues and 149 Clubs. Part of AFL Queensland’s role is to oversee, support and guide various football bodies and programs across the State.

The Queensland AFL Hall of Fame has 150 inductees. Each of these inductees have proved themselves both on and off the field and have fulfilled the criteria in which to be named a Hall of Famer.
From the goal kicking legend Jason Dunstall to a great midfielder in Michael Voss, the history of the best in Queensland is here for show.

AFL Queensland has recently produced a 24-man team to celebrate the past 100 years of football within Queensland. Read all about the team of the century, it’s players and more.

The Honour Board features the history of all AFL Queenslands major awards. the Grogan Medal, the Joe Grant Medal, and the Ray Hughson Medal.

The Honour Board also features lists of the most games played and the all time leading goalkickers in the QAFL competition.

Senior Community Football

Community football leagues and clubs provide an opportunity for senior players to participate in football competitions ranging from social to sub-elite level.

Under 18 – AFL SportsReady Cup

The AFL Queensland SportsReady U18 competition includes clubs from as far as Noosa in the north, Toowoomba in the west, Redcliffe in the east and Coolangatta in the south. Read more about this competition and view the picture gallery here.

Female Football

The AFLQ Women’s League is an exciting competition which allows for women to participate in one of Australia’s best sports. With many sports being known for its masculinity, the AFLQ Women’s League breaks this barrier and creates opportunities for women in this ever changing world.

Youth and Junior Football

The Queensland AFL Junior league allows young players aged eight to 12 to experience a variety of positions on the ground from full back to full forward.

In addition the Queensland AFL Youth league is tailor made for players of all abilities and aspirations, providing graded competitions for boys aged 13 to 16.

Masters Football

AFL Masters, initially known as ‘Superules’ is the game of Australian football for players over 35 years of age right up to over sixty years of age. AFL Masters is recognised by the AFL as the official body to co-ordinate and deliver AFL football to masters players around Australia.
